Our Story
ThreeCo is a Kansas City-based commercial electrical contractor founded by Bob DeFries and Jason Strange. We started the company because we wanted to do commercial electrical work the right way — with safety, craftsmanship, and the success of every client at the center of every job.
Our work spans the full commercial electrical lifecycle: new construction electrical packages, ongoing service and maintenance, and the lighting and renewable energy upgrades that modernize a space and lower a bill. We serve businesses, contractors, and institutions across the Kansas City metro on both the Missouri and Kansas sides.
We're not the biggest contractor in town, and we don't try to be. What we are is a team that shows up, communicates clearly, hits deadlines, and does the kind of work you'd want your name attached to.

Co-Founder & Owner
Bob brings the rare combination of formal electrical engineering and lighting design expertise to ThreeCo. His engineering background shapes how we approach complex commercial systems — from power distribution layout to renewable integration — and his work as a lighting architect means our projects don't just function, they look right. When a build needs both technical depth and design sensibility, that's Bob's lane.

Jason is a Master Electrician — the highest licensure level in the trade, and the credential behind every job ThreeCo runs. He drives field execution, code compliance, and the standard of craftsmanship our crews are held to. When something has to be done right the first time, Jason is the reason it gets done right.
